DESIGN  l  Pedal Pittsburgh Expands 2009
Design Highlights

Join us on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at SouthSide Works as Pedal Pittsburgh once again highlights the urban neighborhoods and architectural landmarks that make Pittsburgh unique. Each year Pedal Pittsburgh selects ten landmarks and revitalization projects as Design Highlights to showcase how good design improves quality of life. This year the Design Highlights are expanded in the form of a feature story with a reoccurring theme of how public involvement made the projects happen. These detailed and engaging stories illustrate the background, challenges, and solutions involved in each particular project. Instances of public engagement are told in the voices of people who were part of the planning process: the August Wilson Center is told by board chair Oliver Byrd; architect Ken Doyno describes the process for his firm's Federal North project; and Riverlife Task Force's Lisa Schroeder provides the history of the planning and renovation of Point State Park. Be sure to check out all ten intriguing stories on the Pedal Pittsburgh website!
